Pet’s AARF Name: Gemini
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Rue
How is your adopted pet doing? Rue is absolutely the best addition to our family! She is so sweet, loving and playful. She LOVES to talk and always asks for ice cubes to knock around the house. She loves to snuggle at night, but during the day you can catch her running around chasing her feather “wand” or “attacking” her cat nip blanket. She is SO smart and even sits for treats! She has brought us so much love we could not imagine life without her.

Pet’s AARF Name: Paige
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Pickle
How is your adopted pet doing? Pickle has been a wonderful new addition to our family. Her bright, curious spirit has made us laugh all throughout the day, and she’s been a welcomed addition to our long daily walks with our 13-year-old black lab, Ace. The two of them are quite the pair, and they enjoy sunbathing in the backyard near the bird feeder… probably because this is where the squirrels are! 🙂 We love Pickle, and our adoption experience with A.A.R.F. was nothing but positive! Thank you to the A.A.R.F. team for our new dream puppy!!
Pickle’s Gotcha Day!
Pickle’s first vet visit! Fully immunized and healthy!
Big ears, her DNA test says she has some coonhound in her… you can see it in the ears! 🙂

Pet’s AARF Name: Teddy
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Teddy bear
How is your adopted pet doing? Teddy has been the best addition to our family! We have been fostering for awhile and my mom (Lori) who has Alzheimers has loved every dog we have been able to take in, but now that she has Teddy as her own, she has fallen even more in love. They both sit outside on the porch during the day and cuddle in the bed at night. Teddy loves going on car rides with the family and enjoys all the attention he gets when he tags along to sports practices. Teddy even loves playing with the cats who have all adjusted so well to him being around. He is the best dog!

Pet’s AARF Name: Blue
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Blue
How is your adopted pet doing? Blue is learning hand signals and obedience and dog agility at the same time. And she is making progress. And she is now sleeping out of a crate at night and on a nice bed in the kitchen with a gate across the open door. However, small bouts of crate training are still imperative during the day, as she can get into anything besides the dog toy box if you’re not watching her! LOL!
On the negative side, she is actually Too feisty with my other two dogs when actively playing with them (another Miniature American Shepherd and a Border Collie). That poses a problem as it can get out of hand, but I am doing my best to curb this. I am hoping that as she ages out of her ‘puppyhood,’ she will calm down on her rambunctious playing. 🙂
And, thanks to Ariel, Blue’s foster parents, AARF, and all the people involved who steered this poor dog out of the situation she was put in – having been abused, “dumped,” pregnant with 10 puppies (discovered when spayed through AARF), and on top of it, is a Double Merle who is deaf.
