When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: September 2022
Pet’s AARF Name: Millie
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Skuggi
How is your adopted pet doing? Wow. Skuggi is perfect! Her name means “shadow” and that’s exactly what she is. She loves belly rubs, snuggling on the couch, playing with her new dog brother, going for long walks, and sleeping in our bed. She’s also very smart. Skuggi has the sweetest disposition and is such a gentle soul. We love her very much!

Pet’s AARF Name: Summer
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Tillie
How is your adopted pet doing? She is AMAZING! Sweet, smart, and cute as a button. She gets long well with our cats, and LOVES our pit bull. They play nicely together, all over the house and yard. She never met a human she didn’t like, either. She’s picking up house-training and crate-training very quickly. WE LOVE HER!

How is your adopted pet doing? Raya is doing well. She is getting adjusted to city life. She has claimed her own couch and loves to “watch the squirrel channel” out the window. She loves the kids and tolerate their noise and chaos well.

Happy Tails For Blue

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: August 22, 2022
Pet’s AARF Name: Blue
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Blue
How is your adopted pet doing? Blue is learning hand signals and obedience and dog agility at the same time. And she is making progress. And she is now sleeping out of a crate at night and on a nice bed in the kitchen with a gate across the open door. However, small bouts of crate training are still imperative during the day, as she can get into anything besides the dog toy box if you’re not watching her! LOL!

On the negative side, she is actually Too feisty with my other two dogs when actively playing with them (another Miniature American Shepherd and a Border Collie). That poses a problem as it can get out of hand, but I am doing my best to curb this. I am hoping that as she ages out of her ‘puppyhood,’ she will calm down on her rambunctious playing. 🙂

And, thanks to Ariel, Blue’s foster parents, AARF, and all the people involved who steered this poor dog out of the situation she was put in – having been abused, “dumped,” pregnant with 10 puppies (discovered when spayed through AARF), and on top of it, is a Double Merle who is deaf.

Happy Tails For Rally

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: January 2020
Pet’s AARF Name: Rally
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Rover
How is your adopted pet doing? What a huge, happy, goofy, dopey addition to our small family. Rover is just an absolute joy without a single aggressive bone or ill thought in his body. We adore him and it has been amazing to see his personality develop over the past two years. He's had a tough go at it, been through a few surgeries due to his back hips being wonky. But, I have never met a dog that is just so happy all of the time.
