How is your adopted pet doing? Harlie (a.k.a. Captain Crazy) is doing well, and adjusting to a very comfy doggie life in New Jersey.. She is a nutty little girl, that just jumps and runs and tears the stuffing out of every toy she is given. Her big brother and sister luv her, although her sister gets annoyed by her craziness sometimes, but she puts her in her place, and Harlie does respect her elders. How is your adopted pet doing? Buffy is doing extremely well and fitting in with her family. She has her puppy moments which is to be expected given she just turned 6 months old.
Buffy is extremely smart, crate trained and house broken which is a credit to her foster Mom Beth who did an excellent job while she had her.

How is your adopted pet doing? I seriously get teary thinking how happy Pico has made our house. Ready for a long story? We have a 15 year old Bichon/Poodle rescue, Presto, that had lost 3 of his siblings (all close to his age) within two years (2018-2020) due to 1-old age/dementia and 2-to kidney failure at the ages of 10 and 12. My husband and I then upended his life even more by moving from Minnesota to SC back in 2020. He was lonely and lethargic. We seriously thought he would just fall asleep and leave us out of shear heartache and lonesomeness. Here’s a tough decision, do we upend his life more and introduce a puppy to see if that helps? Yup, it’s worth a shot. In comes Taco the 4 month old Chiweenie. Big, BIG, mistake. HUGE! Presto HATES him. We can’t leave him alone with the new puppy. He’s NEVER been that way with dogs but he’s not been around new dogs in a long time. We were within 24 hours of calling the rescue to return Taco. It broke our hearts but it was too hard on the old man, Presto. But oh, wait!!!!! Two weeks after Taco arrived at our house Presto realizes the pesky puppy isn’t going anywhere and now he has to get his old, lazy ass off the couch and teach this puppy a thing or two. BAM! Presto is a new (old) dog. Taco saved our old man. They romp and play. Fast forward a year later. We’re fostering a rescue puppy for a few weeks for our daughter until she can come pick him up. HOLY ENERGY, BATMAN! The 3 hit it off… but Presto says, “Ahhh… yes! Put up the feet on my recliner, Mom! Taco has a playmate and I’m going to enjoy my twilight years on the couch with some TV and Mom and Poppy snuggles.” We quickly realize Taco seriously needs a young playmate that can keep up. Foster puppy goes off with daughter… we start searching for a new rescue for Taco. Our daughter sends us info on Pico and it’s love at first sight with the picture. I fill out the EXTENSIVE (happy about that!!) rescue app. My husband couldn’t believe the time I took on it. I told him I knew in that puppy’s eyes he needed to be with us! It paid off. Pico’s foster mom picked us!!!! (again, I get teary with joy thinking about that phone call!) We drive 3 1/2 hours to pick up our new baby and have Taco with us (that’s too long of a drive for old man, Presto). It’s not exactly “love at first sight” but they seemed pretty good with each other. We get them all home… the reaction isn’t the same as it was between Taco and the foster grand-dog. My heart sank. They didn’t dislike each other, but they didn’t “hit it off” immediately either. But again… WAIT! Gave it a couple weeks and now they’re are true brothers who wrestle, play, taunt, tease, find mischief and snuggle with each other. And Mr. Presto the old man even joins in here and there to play (we joke Presto is the old man yelling at the “kids” to get off his lawn as he chases and barks at them). How is your adopted pet doing? Ginger “GiGi” is exactly as described in her bio and conversations with her host family. She’s serene and is a delight! So smart and funny, she is a treasured addition to our family! We love her. Thank you AARF for your thoughtful coordination of GiGi’s transport to CT. To see how much PAWS cared for her and all the other animals who met their families was a wonderful moment to witness. GiGi was well taken care of during her transition from TN to CT and all the animals seemed so happy! Thank you so much

How is your adopted pet doing? She is very happy to have a big house to run around in and enjoys watching the birds on the feeders outside. She gets along with Murray, my dog and sleeps next to him in the family room. She is very active and curious and is a joy to watch. She likes attention, but is not a lap cat yet. In short, she likes her new home and I enjoy her company. She has fit in well.

How is your adopted pet doing? Roxy is doing great! She has pretty much adopted my 3 year old Australian Shepard (Molly) as her ‘mama’ and she follows her around doing what she does. Molly (with my help) has been able to show her the ropes, like not getting in the trash and how to sit/wait for nighttime treats. She even met our extended family and their dogs over thanksgiving and did wonderfully. The cats have even warmed up to her, though she is still learning not to chase them.

How is your adopted pet doing? He’s a dream! Westley fit right into our family. As soon as he got off the transport truck, he greeted us like he’s known us forever! Westly is a great companion; we bring him everywhere we go. He especially loves going on hikes and exploring the riverbank. He has excellent manners and is such a gentle soul. Westley’s also made best friends with our other dog that we recently adopted from AARF, Skuggi. We are truly blessed.

How is your adopted pet doing? Boudica (Boo for short) is doing great and growing up so fast! She has adjusted well to her 4 cat brothers (and they to her, too), and keeps everyone on their toes with her endless desire to play. She is such a goofy, sweet, smart girl and she just finished her first round of puppy training classes. I love her soooo much and can’t wait to go on more adventures with her.

How is your adopted pet doing? She has been such a joy! She is full of energy and character. She’s really made our home a happier place. She recently was certified as an ESA. She has been loving her time at her new school and she’s obsessed with her dog brother Tucker. Every person she meets absolutely adores her.
We just got her a winter coat and rain jacket for cooler adventure days. Bully box arrival days are some of her favorites. She’s still OBSESSED with her snoop toy and awaits its appearance throughout the day.
She has her own stocking and even attempted at helping us decorate for Christmas (she likes to take the ornaments off the tree and bring them to you). Don’t worry, they’re higher now. We have a great list for Santa this year and hope to have many adventures in the upcoming months.
Thank you guys for making this possible. We are so in love with our goofy and sweet baby girl. We just ordered her birthday cake (1st birthday coming up!)
