How is your adopted pet doing? Rella is doing great! She is fitting in so well with her new pack, which includes a yorkie-mix named Pinky (another AARF pup we rescued in July 2021) and a chihuahua named Olive. She’s very active and spry, enjoying time with the family in the backyard, or just cuddled up on the couch watching tv. She likes her new diet of soft food, but also chews on a nylabone from time to time. She’s a sweetheart!
Happy Tails For Ferguson
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 2/3/14
Pet’s AARF Name: Ferguson
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Bouncer
How is your adopted pet doing? It’s been 9 years since I adopted Bouncer and he’s doing fantastic. We’re living in Pensacola now and Bouncer’s enjoying the Panhandle of Florida. He likes venturing to the dog parks, beaches, and campgrounds in the area. Back in October we had a scare. Bouncer needed to have his spleen removed due to a tumor growth. But true to his name, after the surgery he bounced right back. His hair has grown in from where they shaved it, he has lots of energy, and he’s completely back to his old self. The medical scare reinforced my feelings of how lucky I am to have him in my life. I’m grateful for his presence every day. He really is my best friend and loyal companion.

Happy Tails For Chester
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 12/23/22
Pet’s AARF Name: Chester
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Chester
How is your adopted pet doing? Chester is the missing piece of our family we didn’t know we needed! He was a little hesitant with the transition at first, but is now obsessed with his new furever home, yard, and parents. His confidence has grown tremendously. He follows mom around the house like a little shadow. LOVES to play fetch, keep away, and chew on his bone. But his favorite times of the day are meal time and bed time. He even tricked dad into letting him sleep in the bed with us (even though he swore this wasn’t going to be allowed). His little personality is just so fun. We’re still working on getting comfortable with car rides and new people/places, but he’s made huge strides in the almost 2 months we’ve had him. We can’t wait to see how he continues to blossom and we’re so grateful that we get to be the ones to share a life with him!
Side note: Thank you to AARF and Karen (foster mom)!! You all made the adoption process so easy and comfortable. You truly love what you do (it shows) and want to make sure your little rescues fit into their furever home.
Happy Tails For Thelma
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: December 2022
Pet’s AARF Name: Thelma
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Missy
How is your adopted pet doing? We had adopted two kittens in the summer and felt our home was complete until we saw Missy. Now, indeed we are a ‘full house’, three cats and two humans.
Our three cats get along beautifully. Missy was not intimidated by the boys size, nor was she subdued into submission. Soon she had the run of the house and we thought it was possible her name should have been ‘Princess.’
We love all three of our furry housemates dearly.
Dealing with your organization was a pleasure. I especially wish to thank the young woman that helped us through the adoption process. I also want to thank LeAnn Scott for her work in fostering our little girl.

Happy Tails For Chico
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 12/28/22
Pet’s AARF Name: Chico
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Chico
How is your adopted pet doing? Chico is a sweet, wonderful dog, and she has fit right in to our home and family! My husband and I lost our 11 year old Doberman very suddenly and unexpectedly in November, and it has been an extremely difficult loss. We don’t have children, so he was like our child. Even getting to the point to decide we were ready to adopt was tough, but Chico has been a blessing. She has helped fill an emptiness and void we felt in our home. She is so sweet and loves us both so much. She loves her new home and enjoys going to the barn to feed the horses and playing in the creek. I can’t believe how well behaved she is either, especially to be 11 months old! She has been a perfect dog to transition to after the loss of Riddick. She is a sweet girl who deserves the best, and we are glad to be her forever home.
