When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: Nov. 27, 2023
Pet’s AARF Name: Annabelle/Annie
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Annie
How is your adopted pet doing? Annie started as a shy little girl, afraid of most household sounds, timid about trekking on floors (as she spent most of her life outdoors), and extremely cautious of new experiences. Having been with Annie a month now, and with a wonderful start from her foster family, she’s grown into quite the curious explorer- enjoying car rides, daily walks and training sessions together, and continually improving when meeting new people. We are looking forward to formal training in January to improve social skills as well as helping my husband and I learn more about her communication style (and vice versa!) so we can be the best and more harmonious family we can be. Thank you, AARF, for our Annie!!

Happy Tails For Cantera
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: Nov. 4, 2023
Pet’s AARF Name: Cantera
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Buddy
How is your adopted pet doing? Cantera (Buddy) is doing very well. He was very skittish at first but over time with showing him love and care he became very comfortable in his new home. He also has a new sister kitten (Chipa) who’s a little younger than him but they get along great and do everything together. They eat, play , and sleep together and are inseparable. He tends to be more comfortable lounging around while his new little sister is non-stop and very active always stalking him and keeping him on his toes. He then joins in and they begin a little wrestlemania. I think they compliment each other nicely .

Happy Tails For Cheesecake

Pet’s AARF Name: Cheesecake
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Poppy
How is your adopted pet doing? Poppy has been an amazing addition to our family and for our dog Grim! She is getting him to play every day and he seems to really enjoy having a buddy at home. Gone are the days where Grim mopes while waiting for me to get off my work computer for the day. I get to watch them run around the backyard wrestling and exploring together, then running back inside to play some more.
Poppy has quickly got into hiking with us and we’re excited for spring to go on more adventures! She has been a quick learner with her tricks, very clever.
We’re very grateful that Karen from AARF made the adoption process so quick and easy. Thank you for bringing Poppy into our lives!
Happy Tails For Patriot / Trevor
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: Tennessee
Pet’s AARF Name: Patriot / Trevor
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Trevor
How is your adopted pet doing? We kept Trevors name. He was called Patriot at aarf, but the foster dog mom changed it to trevor, and we decided that we would keep that, so he didn’t have any more confusion on another name. He is the best Husky! We totally feel blessed to have him in our family. 1 mo. prior, we lost our husky of 12 yrs, and just felt a void in our family. Trevor joined us Oct. 10th, 2023, and he has been a shining light ever since. He is happy, he loves to play, loves to run, and go on walks. He has settled in quite nicely. After a month of being here, he is finally feeling safe enough to go outside, and stay by himself with his stuffed toy. He is finally trusting that we are not going to leave him. He loves riding in the car, that is probably a highlight of his day, and then we take him for a long walk, and a run on a 50 ft lead, that he can pretty much go where ever he wants. He is a great addition to us, and we are very thankful for all that cared for him in the shelter, and at his foster home. We love him. 🙂

Happy Tails For Rocket
When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 10/19/2023
Pet’s AARF Name: Rocket
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Sophie
How is your adopted pet doing? Sophie is doing great! She has brought much-needed life and joy back into our home, especially for her big sister, Maggie, who was mourning the loss of her senior kitty sister. Sophie and Maggie bonded almost immediately and although she likes to be the annoying little sister sometimes, they have a very sweet relationship. Sophie often mimics Maggie in a “monkey see, monkey do” kind of way. They play well together and love to sit on the screened-in porch together.
She is very loving and, if she ever slows down, very cuddly. She always has something to say, which we love, because our senior kitty that we lost prior to adopting Sophie was a talker. She has the sweetest personality and is literally the perfect ffit for us. We love her so much and wouldn’t trade her for anything.
