Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Zeke
How is your adopted pet doing? Zeke is doing well. We have grown back all our fur except for a small dime sized piece on our back leg. He’s developed an amazing personality and seems to be young at heart! He is a great addition to our family.

Pet’s AARF Name: Maddie
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Ripley
How is your adopted pet doing? Ripley hasn’t let the whole “being deaf” thing get in her way. She’s become a regular adventure pup exploring the Sierras Mountains of California, the salt flats of Utah and the back woods of Chattanooga. She has learned very quickly how to communicate via a vibrating collar when she’s out climbing rocks with us so she never gets lost. We took her training very seriously and she already has all her basic commands down (through learning puppy sign language). We’re now working on roll over! She’s one happy pup, loves people her cat siblings (even though they aren’t quite convinced), other dogs and lives for the weekend when she gets to explore outside and going climbing with us.

Pet’s AARF Name: Talulah
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): n/a
How is your adopted pet doing? Talulah is SO precious, and has brought so much joy to our family! She was very timid and scared for the first two weeks, and never left my side while acclimating to our home and to our other dogs, Georgia and Pippin. But two weeks is really all it took, and now she and her brother and sister romp and play all over the house and yard. Our boys Charlie (14) and Thomas (12) adore Talulah, and look for any opportunity to carry her around like the sweet baby that she is. She has SO much personality and makes us laugh every day. She was very skinny when we got her, weighing only 12 pounds. At her last vet checkup, she weighed almost 14 pounds, and her fur has grown in thick and fluffy. We are so thankful to have found her and to have been able to give her a happy home.

Pet’s AARF Name: Cash
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Elvis
How is your adopted pet doing? Cash, now Elvis, is doing amazing! When we first brought him home he was quiet and always stayed in his bed with his new stuffed toy. We always showed him love to show him he’s family now and that he can be comfortable around us all. After a week he began to warm up and wander arrounf the house to familiarize himself with it.
Now he’s crazy wild! And we love it! He LOVES to play and to go outside. We have to watch out for the deer though as he likes to chase them! He loves his carrots and dog cookies, but also enjoys his breakfast and dinner.
I can’t imagine now being without him and I want to thank out for bringing us together! He is the baby of the family and will always be 🙂 Thank You AARF!

Pet’s AARF Name: Barnaby
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Forrest
How is your adopted pet doing? Forrest is simply a love! He was so affectionate and loving from the minute we picked him up from the transport location in Nanuet, NY. We actually didn’t meet Forrest prior to adopting him since he was in Tennessee and we live in New Jersey. However, with the amazing guidance and support from Ariel his foster, and AARF, we adopted Forrest and it was a perfect match. When Forrest and our Labrador Libby met and it was love at first sight! We couldn’t imagine our life without him!

Pet’s AARF Name: Harley
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Toast
How is your adopted pet doing? Toast (Harley) has been a perfect addition to our family since day one. She adapted within a matter of days and has been showing off her full loving puppy personality ever since. We could not be happier with her. She’s a quick learner and trained easily. In fact, almost everyone we meet asks how we got the perfect dog, and where they can get one too. We direct them all to AARF! Toast is friends with all the dogs in the neighborhood and basically is the queen of the dog park. All in all, she’s a very happy pup, *almost* as happy as we are to have her!

How is your adopted pet doing? We adopted Cella, now Lilli, from AARF in the spring and she is doing wonderful! She loves playing with her sister Sydney and hanging out on the couch with Mom and Dad. She is getting around just fine despite only having one eye, and is as sweet as can be. She brings the fun and we are so tickled to have her in our lives.

Pet’s AARF Name: Fritz
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Hershey
How is your adopted pet doing? Hi there! Our adopted ‘Fritz’ is now named Hershey, or #HersheytheKisser when we share his cute pictures with friends on family on Twitter and Facebook, haha! He is doing fantastic! He was a little timid at first, but after he had been in his “furever” home for about a month, he started to really come out of his shell and became a complete cuddle bug. He and his “big sister” Winnie are like two peas in a pod. They are about the same size and love to play and tumble in the yard together, especially when chasing after a favorite toy. Hershey is obsessed with playing fetch, loves to steal socks, and will never say no to a treat! In fact, one time I bribed the pups for a bath with a couple treats in the bathtub and now Hershey sneaks off to the tub in search of the “treat fairy” whenever he gets a chance, haha! We love Hershey and we think he loves us too. 🙂 We are so grateful that we were able to find Hershey through AARF.
