Happy Tails For Horton

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: April 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Horton
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Sully
How is your adopted pet doing? Silly Sully as we call him is so very laid back and easy going. We all love him to death. He has fit in with the older dog and the cats. He has a best friend Teddy who was also adopted from the south 2 months after him and we have done good manners training with the two of them.
This was the best thing ever after losing our full blooded Chow Chow. Sully definitely has some chow chow in him. The foster parent was so patient and sent pictures of sully to me while we were waiting for him to get here. I would definitely recommend AARF – TN.

Happy Tails For Champ

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 4/9/2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Champ
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Champ
How is your adopted pet doing? Champ is absolutely wonderful. He has trained us well to respond to his every whim – which usually includes chasing squirrels in our backyard. He has caught some much to our dismay. He enjoys deconstructing toys to get to the squeaker inside. He has been very willing to learn what we teach. He responds to his name very well, sit, attention, and given enough treats, down. He starts obedience classes next week. He loves to play with our cat, Mouse. Sometimes she will play, most times, she screeches and we intervene. We understand that he spent his first two years outside. His foster mom, Ariel did a wonderful job giving him house manners. He looks forward to his walks with us with so much cute enthusiasm, he is hard to resist. For some reason he will let our daughters take photos of him, unless we all try to get in the picture.

Happy Tails For Daisy

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: April 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Daisy
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Daisy
How is your adopted pet doing? Daisy is the light of our lives ! She has been in our family for five months and we truly can’t believe she’s ours! She is the sweetest, friendliest girl and has made so many new friends human and fur alike! Some of her favorite things include road trips, hiking, giving hugs (on command!), and playing with her squeakiest toys! She also loves the freedom of running around her fenced in yard and in true Australian shepherd fashion, loves herding everyone when she’s out there ! We can’t thank AARF (or her foster mom Ashley Rabdolph) enough for happily bringing her into our lives !

Happy Tails For Winston

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: April 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Winston
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Burgess Wintston
How is your adopted pet doing? Burgess (Burge) is a wonderful dog.

He has been a really easy puppy to train, and is eager to please. He comes to work with me every day and is a real hit at the office. We love going on hikes (he’s great off-leash) and going to the dog park for playdates with Burge’s friends. Burge loves all dogs, and has been always been social without any signs of aggression right from the start.

He really just likes hanging out with us, sleeping on the couch, and taking up all of the room in the bed most of all.

Burge’s foster mom, Debbie, was really lovely to work with through the adoption process and really cares about her pups.

Burge really is our best friend, and we’re so happy we found him through AARF.

Happy Tails For Twister

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: February 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Twister
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Finn
How is your adopted pet doing? Twister – now “Finn” – has been doing great since he moved from Tennessee to Virginia to live with me. I searched high and low to find the right dog for me, and he’s been nothing short of perfect! Ariel spent a lot of time talking with me beforehand and sending me videos of Finn, so that I’d understand just what I was getting into with this little ball of energy. To help give him more structure and exercise, I’ve had him in obedience training for several months and I am hoping to get him involved with agility next. He’s so incredibly smart and driven – he always keeps me on my toes whether we’re just walking in my neighborhood or playing fetch at the beach (his new favorite place) or training at his obedience school. I’m incredibly grateful that I found this little guy, and that Ariel and the AARF team had faith that I’d be a good mom for Finn. When I first got him, I could tell that, although he was a little nervous from the pet transport, he had been loved and cared for while he was with AARF. We’ve been best buds ever since! Thank you!

How is your adopted pet doing? Bentley has really brought our family together. He just trots into the room and it puts a smile on everyone’s face. He is an equal opportunity greeter however everyone gets some attention from this very special guy. He does have a special place in his heart for Amelia (14) and Peter (17) they both bonded immediately with Bentley. The two of them like to take walks and just hang. Thank you for bringing him into our lives.

Happy Tails For Sylas

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: February 24, 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Sylas
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Sylas River
How is your adopted pet doing? We love Sylas! Ariel, his foster mother, took excellent care of him. He arrived by a transport service and greeted us like he knew us.
He had a broken leg before he came to us. That has healed well. Sylas is a quiet boy but once a day he spends time tossing his toys in the air and catching them. He gives the best hugs ever.
