How is your adopted pet doing? She’s doing wonderful!! She’s SO affectionate and loving. Every morning when my alarm goes off I think she knows I like to snooze it because she comes right up to my face and will purr and rub her face on mine!

Happy Tails For Dexter

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 11/5/22
Pet’s AARF Name: Dexter
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Rufio
How is your adopted pet doing? Rufio sits at the very center of our little family in Montana. He goes everywhere with us and has loved exploring our snowy yard and hiking trails this past winter. He is the sweetest dog we’ve ever known- kind towards every dog he meets (he gets so excited when he sees his pup friends!) and so gentle with humans. Rufio may be small, but his personality is mighty—he is so brave and adventurous. We can’t wait to see him bound around our little farm this season! He stole our hearts and our bed almost 6 months ago, and we’ve been grateful for every minute we’ve spent with him by our sides. Thank you for bringing us together, AARF!

Happy Tails For Ellie

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: January 2023
Pet’s AARF Name: Ellie
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Polly
How is your adopted pet doing? Polly entered our home as though she’s lived here her entire life and has become best friends with every person that walks through the door. She’s learning all sorts of commands, enjoys her evening walks more than anything, and is always up for a snuggle on the couch with her family. Polly has about 5 million nicknames from all the new people in her life, and she greets every person with cuddles and kisses no matter what they call her (after she’s run about ten laps around them). She is the sweetest little love who has made herself irreplaceable in our lives and we couldn’t imagine life without her. Thank you AARF for caring for her until we could find her ❤️

Happy Tails For Kacey

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: February 27, 2023
Pet’s AARF Name: Kacey
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Bella
How is your adopted pet doing? She is the greatest dog ever! She is so smart and is loving beyond our greatest expectations! We have had dogs throughout our 60 year marriage and she is so perfect we cannot begin to describe her (our other dogs were wonderful but she has gone above anything we could have asked for.) Karen, her foster mother, also raved about what a remarkable dog she is. Bella is an Australian Shepherd mix with beautiful brindle feet. She adapted to our retirement lifestyle and also works with my disability from back surgery. I highly recommend AARF for acquiring a new pet.

Happy Tails For Saturn

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 1 month ago
Pet’s AARF Name: Saturn
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Saturn
How is your adopted pet doing? Doing very well. Gets along with everyone. Attention hound and good appetite. Starting to figure out she can jump. Kit our other cat, is trying to teach her and asks her to follow him around. They act like they always knew each other. She isn’t afraid of Kate our dog, but doesn’t pay her any mind. Kit will nuzzle the dog, fairly certain he thought he was one until Saturn showed up.

Happy Tails For Darth

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: March 1st
Pet’s AARF Name: Darth
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Dash
How is your adopted pet doing? He’s wonderful! Dash is patient with our 18 month old, wrestles with the dogs and is the very best lap warmer. We could not have asked for a better kitty. I’m afraid he’s stuck with us because we love him so much!

Happy Tails For Kody

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 2/4/23
Pet’s AARF Name: Kody
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Oqoti (Pronounced O’Koti) It is the mi’kmaq indian word for Friend
How is your adopted pet doing? Oqoti is doing Amazing and we are so grateful to have him in our lives! He’s acclimated quite well into our home. He goes to work with me everyday and loves hanging out in my home office. He also enjoys daily walks at Ijams nature center or around our neighborhood and especially has fun running about in our fenced in yard, chasing squirrels, birds and the cats. Just last weekend he had a playdate with his cousin on his aunts farm. He was able to really run, jump and play and he loved every minute of it. He is so sweet and kind and his new extended family was very impressed at how well behaved he was.
He’s a very good boy but also very curious and sometimes mischievous. LOL. But he keeps us on our toes and he’s with us for the long haul. We couldn’t have ask for a better fella.

Happy Tails For Xena

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: AARF
Pet’s AARF Name: Xena
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Marley
How is your adopted pet doing? Although we discovered that Marley is blind in one eye on our first vet visit last year, she is perfect for our home. She is a great sister to our other dog and she loves to snuggle. She is very talkative too! She verbalized using different vowel sounds and is quite effective at communicating her wishes. 🙂
