When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: January 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Destin
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Grist
How is your adopted pet doing? Grist is such a special dog! He has an acre of fenced in yard to run around & explore and he takes full advantage! Grist has a sister, a 110lb Pyr/Berner mix, and a 130lb Newfie brother; Grist has the heart of a lion, stealing his siblings toys and hanging from their necks. Grist sleeps between myself & my husband, he has his own pillow. He loves barking, marrow bones, belly rubs, and trips to the beach. Dislikes include baths, bedtime, & bugs.
On a more serious note, our Greater Swiss mix was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer two months after we rescued Grist. Grist was a gift of light & comedic relief as a silly puppy during such a somber time in our lives. I’ll include a photo of Grist & Walter Cronkite (he passed away on May 11th 2017).
