Destiny came to us after being found in the middle of the road near Hilham. Our director happened to be in the area when she got the call, and made a visit to see her. This couple was coming home and saw her little eyes just glowing in the night. The wife jumped out of the car and picked her up, knowing she could not leave her out there all alone. Destiny was adopted to a Northern family and was transported via P.E.T.S. (www.petsllc.org). Here is what Destiny’s family has to say about her:
Just wanted to send you updated pictures of Destiny. She is settling in quite nicely and loves to run around with the kids. She is a joy to have. Thanks for bringing her home to us.
Pam and family
I adopted Destiny’s sister, Diane, now named Sushi. I’ve been trying to figure out what breed they are. If you guys ever do a DNA test, would you let me know the results, via AARF? I’m thinking Mountain Cur, but they do look like Dutch Shepherd mixes too. Sushi’s now about 60 lbs!
Just had to comment, my husband and I were the ones who picked up both of the puppies out of the road. I am so glad that they both found loving homes. 60lbs wow almost unbelievable since I could hold both in my lap with no problem when we picked them up. Have no idea on what kind of breeds they are.
Thanks for getting the puppies safely out of the road. Destiny, renamed Shiloh, is a wonderful dog. She is smaller than her sister since she only weighs 53lbs. I am not sure exactly what she is but I will send you Kris the results if we ever do a DNA test and if you could do the same that would be great. Shiloh absolutely loves the kids, mine and also the neighborhoods and they love her. She is a very sweet dog. Thanks to AARF for their great work of finding loving homes to animals. Pam
Kris, we did a DNA test and it come back as them being half boston terrier and half German shepherd. There were no other breeds detected. Just wanted to let you know. Hope Sushi is doing well. Pam
Wow, Pam! That’s amazing!! All this time I’ve been told Sushi is completely a Mountain Cur, and that’s coming from fans of the breed. But I can see the German Shepherd in her. And the Boston Terrier comes out when I blow bubbles for her. She turns into a nut!
I love that Sushi’s sister’s name also starts with “sh.” Thanks so much for posting. If I ever do the DNA test, I’ll let you know. Happy New Year!
And Berenice…thank you so much for rescuing these puppies!
