Happy Tails For Windy

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 10/2/20
Pet’s AARF Name: Windy
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Bobbi
How is your adopted pet doing? Bobbi has been a great joy and has made such a big impact on own lives in such a short time!

Some background on my husband and I: When we got engaged about 4.5 years ago, I already had a cat. Her name was Bill and I had had her since 04. Sept 2020 Bill lost the battle of her IDB which had turned to cancer. She was 18.5 year old. My husband was okay with her, but never had understood the joy of a pet as he just saw me caring for sick elderly cat.
After Bill, I knew I need some help coping and a new companion. I had no intention of adopting so quickly after her passing. I got on pet finder to just see who was out there and if there was a kitty that needed someone like I needed them. I searched for special needs cats. I came across Windy. She was absolutely stunning. Her special needs didn’t seems like such a special need to me. (Flea allergy) She was happy being a single cat which was perfect for us. As my husband wasn’t the biggest fan of pets at the time ( Windy is slowly bring him around to the joy of a pet). She was older, which was a plus a for me as well. Kittens are crazy!
Windy, now Bobbi is loving her new home. Her favorite toy is a “hipster” fish that she rabbit kicks. She likes to run up and down the stairs making noises. She loves sitting between my husband and I on the sofa for pets. Bobbi has really shown my husband how pets can be enriching. This morning I heard him talking and asked him what he was saying. He told me that he and Bobbi were talking! I could not have asked for a more perfect companion and fur baby.
