Happy Tails For Bagel

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: January 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Bagel
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Dougal D
How is your adopted pet doing? Dougal D has been such a great addition to our family. He is super sweet, full of energy and the best at snuggling. From day 1 it was like he was meant to be with us. He was about 4 months when we got him and we suspected he was a beagle/basset mix. Now at a little over a year we are fairly certain he’s a TN walker coonehound. He’s still long and lanky… but he’s taller than our beagle and has the nose and the howl of a coonehound. He is so smart and picks up on commands very easy (he loves food and treats!) He keeps us and his sisters entertained and on our toes. We couldn’t ask for a better boy!!!! Thank you so much for introducing us to this sweet baby!!!!

Happy Tails For Penny

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: June 2016
Pet’s AARF Name: Penny
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Penny
How is your adopted pet doing? Penny is the sweetest little girl ever! She has the best temperament and loves everyone she meets. Her favorite activity is hunting down bugs(and moles) in the summer – she’s quite the little huntress:) She also enjoys going to East Nashville to play with her best dog friends in their big backyards! Thanks AARF!

Happy Tails For Destin

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: January 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Destin
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Grist
How is your adopted pet doing? Grist is such a special dog! He has an acre of fenced in yard to run around & explore and he takes full advantage! Grist has a sister, a 110lb Pyr/Berner mix, and a 130lb Newfie brother; Grist has the heart of a lion, stealing his siblings toys and hanging from their necks. Grist sleeps between myself & my husband, he has his own pillow. He loves barking, marrow bones, belly rubs, and trips to the beach. Dislikes include baths, bedtime, & bugs.

On a more serious note, our Greater Swiss mix was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer two months after we rescued Grist. Grist was a gift of light & comedic relief as a silly puppy during such a somber time in our lives. I’ll include a photo of Grist & Walter Cronkite (he passed away on May 11th 2017).

She adapted so easily and has become an integral part of our family. She enjoys chasing all of the wildlife in the backyard. We can only hope we make her as happy as she does us! Thank you to AARF for making the adoption process so easy.

Happy Tails For Sweetie

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 08/01/2016
Pet’s AARF Name: Sweetie
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Penni
How is your adopted pet doing? Penni (formerly Sweetie) was saved and sent to a shelter in Cleveland, OH. AARF saved her about a year ago this week. THANK YOU for taking a chance on her and sending her North. We met her about a week after she arrived and our other 2 dogs adore her. Penni is an incredibly sweet dog who has spent the past year learning to enjoy life for the 1st time in her life. She has toys, couches, beds and friends. We are very grateful for all you do to care for dogs. Without your tireless dedication, we would not have Penni, and we cannot imagine life without her. THANK YOU!

Your friends in Cleveland, OH –
Jerry, Anne, Higbee and Halle

Happy Tails For Lady Amelia Windsor

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 1-29-2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Lady Amelia Windsor
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Desi Lu
How is your adopted pet doing? Desi Lu is doing great! We could not be more blessed. Desi has brought us so much joy and happiness since she became a part of our family. In October of last year we had to say good by to the last of our rescue Aussies ..our family was lost. I happened up on arrf rescue late one night saw a pic and video of that sweet face and was drawn to her instantly.
Since then she has stolen our hearts and even won over our 3 cats Ozzy, mouse, and Mya. Desi Lu is so loved by all who are lucky enough to meet her.
Our experience with AARF was amazing. Barbara went over and beyond to help make sure that we were a good fit. We made the trip from Jacksonville Florida and Barbara and her sweet husband met us in Chattanooga.
I have been involved in rescue off and on over the last 30 years, and I must say that AARF is one of the best run animal rescue organizations that I have ever seen. You can certainly tell that The Fosters and volunteers do all they do out of pure love . I can’t Thank Barbra enough for helping our family feel complete again.

Happy Tails For Skittles

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 7/27/2017. Pick up date: 7/30/2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Skittles
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Jasmine
How is your adopted pet doing? Jasmine is doing very good! Her and Louie (my Chihuahua) are getting along very nicely! She is just as playful and hyper as Louie so I’m very happy with that! She is the new member of our family and we love her so much!! I want to thank everyone as well as her foster for everything!!

“Skittles” now named Jasmine is doing amazing. Louie and Jasmine are best friends and get along very well. Jasmine is now fully potty trained and goes out and uses pee pads. She is learning new tricks and now has a wardrobe to match Louie’s thanks to my mom. She just recently noticed the Lovebirds we have and watch them like crazy when I have them out exercising them. She got to meet new friends on our neighborhood walks and is learning the walking trail we take. She loves to run rather than walk when we go out so now I have an exercise buddy. She is the best thing that has happened to us and to Louie now that he has someone to play with he sleeps better. They just recently started to share a bed and are learning to play with toys together.

Happy Tails For Juno

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: March2015
Pet’s AARF Name: Juno
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Lily
How is your adopted pet doing? When Lily first came to us, she was very timid because of the situation she had come from. It took her quite a while to feel completely comfortable in our home but with patience, she has since blossomed and truly you can tell that she feels she has found her forever home. She definitely is my dog as she cuddles on the couch and sleeps with me every night. She loves playing with her 4 legged siblings.

Happy Tails For Burr

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: March 2017
Pet’s AARF Name: Burr
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Rudy
How is your adopted pet doing? Rudy has been the perfect addition to our family. He loves to hike, walk, run and play. He’s a master fetcher and a snuggle bug. He doesn’t bark that often (only when danger is suspected) so he learned quickly to ring a bell to go outside. He’s our baby for sure!
