Louie's first boat ride!

Happy Tails For Checkers

When did you adopt your pet from AARF?: 9/9/19
Pet’s AARF Name: Checkers
Pet’s New Name (if you changed it): Louie
How is your adopted pet doing? Louie is doing great! We love him so much and he just keeps us laughing. He’s a little goofy with his long legs and silly floppy ears. We named him Louie b/c my husband and I met at Bar Louie. Our previous dog was Annie and lived to be almost 16. My brother called her Annie Lou, so the name seemed perfect.
Louie has 2 dog cousins and they play all the time. He’s an indoor dog and yes he sleeps in the bed. We take him a lot of places and sit on patios downtown. He is treated like a prince and become very socialized with other dogs and people.

He is very smart and has learned many of the basics. He loves to fetch a tennis ball and go on walks. Although when he gets tired, he just lays down on his leash, so he gets picked up from that point! 🙂 We also got him a toy that you put food in and he kicks it around the house to get treats out. It’s a great way to keep them from eating too fast.

Louie’s mom was Ava and he had several brothers/sisters all adopted through AARF. We live in Nashville, but would love to keep in touch with them and setup play dates or share photos.

Thank you to all the staff & volunteers at AARF…you guys are doing amazing work and we are VERY grateful to have found your organization online.
